Description
Refined and balanced, the Najem 2×2 checkerboard zellige tile combines deep charcoal grey with soft ivory white, creating a timeless contrast inspired by Moroccan architectural patterns. Each square zellige tile is handmade in Morocco, shaped and glazed by hand, resulting in subtle tonal variations, organic texture, and gently irregular edges that define authentic zellige craftsmanship.
The 2×2 checkerboard format brings a graphic yet understated rhythm, making this zellige tile suitable for both classic and contemporary interiors. Its glossy glazed surface enhances light reflection while preserving the artisanal character of each piece.
This checkerboard zellige tile is suitable for residential and commercial applications, including kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, shower walls and floors (including steam showers), interior floors in high-traffic areas such as kitchens, primary bathrooms, and entryways, as well as low-traffic spaces like guest bathrooms and bedrooms. It can also be used for fireplace surrounds (excluding the firebox) and is compatible with radiant heated floors.
For exterior use, this zellige tile may be installed on exterior walls and outdoor floors in non-freeze climates.
