Description
This charcoal gray and white checkerboard zellige tile brings a clean, graphic contrast inspired by classic Moroccan craftsmanship. The darker squares lean graphite/charcoal gray rather than pure black, paired with a soft off-white tone for a balanced, timeless look. Each 2×2 zellige tile is handmade in Morocco, shaped and glazed by hand, creating natural shade variation, organic texture, and gently irregular edges that define authentic zellige.
The checkerboard layout adds structure and rhythm without feeling busy, making it a strong choice for minimalist, modern, and architectural interiors. The glaze reflects light subtly, while the handmade surface keeps the finish warm and dimensional.
This charcoal gray and white zellige tile is suitable for both residential and commercial applications, including kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, shower walls and floors including steam showers, interior floors in high-traffic areas such as kitchens, primary bathrooms, and entryways, as well as low-traffic spaces like guest bathrooms and bedrooms. It is also suitable for fireplace surrounds (excluding the firebox), pools and spas (saltwater or chlorine), and is compatible with radiant heated floors.
For exterior use, this 2×2 checkerboard zellige tile may be installed on exterior walls and outdoor floors in non-freeze climates. It is not suitable for exterior floors exposed to freeze or thaw conditions such as snow or ice.
Sealing is required to protect the glaze and ensure long-term durability. Please refer to the installation guide for recommended sealers.
