Aksil 2×2 Checkerboard Zellige Tile

Rich and expressive, the Aksil checkerboard zellige tile features a refined pairing of deep indigo blue and soft off-white, inspired by traditional Moroccan mineral pigments. Each 2×2 zellige tile is handcrafted in Morocco, shaped and glazed by hand, creating subtle color movement, organic texture, and gently irregular edges that define authentic zellige.

The classic checkerboard layout brings balance and visual rhythm, making this tile suitable for both timeless and contemporary interiors. Its glossy finish enhances light reflection while emphasizing the depth of the indigo glaze and the natural character of each handmade piece.

This zellige tile is suitable for residential and commercial use, including kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, shower walls and floors (including steam showers), and interior floors in high-traffic areas such as kitchens, primary bathrooms, and entryways. It is also appropriate for low-traffic spaces like guest bathrooms and bedrooms, fireplace surrounds (excluding the firebox), and is compatible with radiant heated floors.

For exterior applications, this tile may be installed on exterior walls and outdoor floors in non-freeze climates.
