MAQAM Checkerboard 2×2 Zellige Tile

The MAQAM Checkerboard 2×2 Zellige Tile features a calm, earthy green tone inspired by natural Moroccan landscapes, paired with a soft off-white contrast. This balanced palette creates a soothing yet structured checkerboard pattern that highlights the authenticity of traditional handmade zellige.

Each zellige tile is individually crafted by Moroccan artisans, resulting in subtle variations in color depth, glaze movement, and gently irregular edges. These natural characteristics give MAQAM its unique character and timeless appeal, making every installation one of a kind. The soft green hue brings a sense of calm and organic warmth, suitable for both contemporary interiors and classic Moroccan spaces.

MAQAM zellige tiles are suitable for residential and commercial applications, including high-traffic interior floors such as kitchens, primary bathrooms, and entryways, as well as low-traffic areas like guest bathrooms and bedrooms. They can also be installed on interior walls, including kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, and decorative feature walls, adding depth and artisanal texture.

For more demanding environments, MAQAM is suitable for shower walls and floors, including steam showers, and can be used in pools and spas, whether saltwater or chlorine. The tile is compatible with radiant heated floor systems and may be used on fireplace surrounds, excluding the interior firebox.

For exterior applications, MAQAM can be installed on exterior walls and outdoor floors in non-freeze climates.
